Helping You Navigate Roofing Insurance Claims with Confidence

Filing a roofing insurance claim can be overwhelming—especially after storm damage. At Kannapolis Roofworx, we’re here to make the process easier. While we are not public adjusters, we work closely with trusted roofing professionals who can assist you with roof inspections, damage documentation, and insurance claim coordination.

Important Notice: Kannapolis Roofworx is not licensed to act as a public insurance adjuster. We do not negotiate or settle insurance claims. Our role is to connect you with qualified contractors who can assess roof damage and work alongside your insurance adjuster to ensure all necessary repairs are identified.

Step 1: Schedule a Professional Roof Inspection

Before filing a claim, it’s important to confirm the extent of the damage and whether it qualifies under your insurance policy.

Book a free inspection with a trusted roofing contractor, who will:

  • Conduct a detailed evaluation for wind, hail, and storm-related damage
  • Document missing shingles, leaks, or structural concerns
  • Provide a comprehensive inspection report to support your insurance claim

Call us or submit our online form to be connected with a qualified contractor.

Step 2: Submit Your Insurance Claim

Once roof damage is confirmed, the next step is to initiate a claim with your insurance company.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • The date and time of the storm or event
  • Your insurance policy number
  • Any photos or documentation provided by your roofing contractor

Once your claim is submitted, the insurance provider will assign a claim number, which you’ll use throughout the process.

Step 3: Coordinate with the Insurance Adjuster

Your insurance company will assign an adjuster to inspect your roof. It’s essential to have your roofing contractor present during this visit.

Why should your contractor be there?

  • To ensure all storm-related damage is accurately noted
  • To confirm that repairs align with local building codes
  • To avoid missed items or underestimated repair scopes

Reminder: Roofing contractors can discuss the scope of damage but cannot negotiate or settle claims on your behalf.

Step 4: Review the Insurance Estimate

After the adjuster completes their evaluation, you’ll receive a Scope of Work detailing what the insurance company has approved.

What to do next:

  • Share the documentation with your roofing contractor
  • Have them review the estimate to verify that all necessary repairs are included
  • If items are missing, the contractor may assist in requesting supplemental coverage

This review typically happens within 7–10 days after the adjuster’s inspection.

Step 5: Roof Replacement & Insurance Payment

Most insurance claims are paid out in two stages:

First Payment – Actual Cash Value (ACV)

You’ll receive the ACV amount, which covers the depreciated value of your roof. This initial payment allows the contractor to begin work.

Roofing Work Begins

Your roofing contractor will schedule the project. You’re responsible for your deductible, as outlined in your insurance policy.

Second Payment – Recoverable Depreciation

If your policy includes recoverable depreciation, the remaining amount is paid after the project is completed and a final invoice is submitted.
